About us

I am Leanne, and I am the proud founder of Extra Steps Physio, a private physiotherapy company based in Telford, Shropshire. I am hugely passionate about providing high quality, specialist physiotherapy care to clients within the comfort of their home. Where better for us to work with you to help you achieve your goals than within your own comfortable, familiar environment?

Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist over 14 years ago, my career path has given me the opportunity to practice physiotherapy across all age groups in society, from tiny newborns to our most senior golden oldies. I have worked within acute hospital settings across a wide range of specialties. For the past 10 years, I have worked predominantly within the community setting, visiting people in their homes and care homes too.

I am proud to have worked for the NHS for over 14 years, but having always dreamt of setting up my own business, Extra Steps Physio has been born. My vision is to provide a friendly and welcoming service that allows people to work on the things that are most important to them, without barriers such as time constraints and waiting lists. I am incredibly passionate about empowering my clients and working alongside them on their road to recovery, no matter how big or small their goals are. I promise to build a strong, open partnership with clients and make them feel comfortable and at ease.

I am fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and The Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), offering the highest standard of care. I am also a member of AGILE, the professional network for physiotherapists working with older people.

When I’m not busy working, I love spending time with my family. I am happiest outdoors (weather permitting!), especially if my four-legged friend Elsie is tagging along too.
